2011 University of Utah Women's Lacrosse Team
The Board of Director’s for Ute Women’s Lacrosse at the University of Utah, along with the coaching staff are excited to be a part of the RMWLL and WCLA. The season opener at Santa Barbara was a great event, even with the inclement weather, and we look forward to the rest of the 2011 schedule.
Our goal is to have athletes with a strong sense of teamwork, pride, integrity and personal and team achievement while wearing Ute Red! Our coaches are committed to developing both strong athletes and a competitive team.
UWL anticipates with great excitement hosting the ‘Salt Lake Shootout’ at the University’s new facility, McCarthey Field, on March 12th and 13th.
See you on the sidelines!

Tiffany Brinkerhoff is the Ute Women's Lacrosse Club President, Team Manager and also holds a seat on the executive committee for the UWL Board of Directors. Before UWL Tiffany kept things going with lacrosse at the University by organizing players and looking for funding. She is an asset to the team and organization as the liaison, for not only the team, but University of Utah as well. Her skills and dedication help to keep everything running smoothly and efficiently.
Tiffany's hometown is Salt Lake City, Utah, but with her father's military career she has traveled to, and lived in, many other places. Tiffany is active and plays sports, but lacrosse is her favorite. She is a sophomore majoring in Psychology and Anthropology, and is a current member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. While Ms. Brinkerhoff is dedicated to school and lacrosse, she is living her life to the fullest with family and friends.
Ute Women's Lacrosse is lucky to have such an outstanding and dedicated member.
It has been a long time coming, but the University of Utah has a women’s team and we are here to play lacrosse. We are very excited to be a part of the RMWLL. It is very exciting to see the growth in the league and to see the quality of the teams and players. It is our honor to be a part of that growth in RMWLL, and we have set our goals high to be competitive in the league and promote the game of women’s lacrosse in the Rocky Mountain West.
We are a young first year team, with many freshman and sophomores along with a few upper-class players back in the mix. The U has a legacy of great quality sports programs and with the players and coaching staff we hope to continue to carry women’s lacrosse to those levels of quality. The University supports us well. We are very fortunate to have a new facility McCarthy Field, with a state of the art turf field, sewn in line with lights and grass seating. We can hardly wait for our first game there.
Our team is supported by the UWL (Ute Women’s Lacrosse) an organization set up to promote women’s lacrosse at the U. We are so lucky to have Glen and Kathy Shurtleff leading the way for our team, by setting up such a great support mechanism for the team.
We have already played a few games in the Santa Barbara Shootout and look forward to our first league games March 6th as we travel to UNC, to play in the UNC RMWLL Tournament. We are excited to play teams in the RMWLL. We look forward to an exciting year of lacrosse.
